Company Taxation
If you run a limited company, corporation tax is unavoidable - but the surprises don't have to be. We prepare your company tax return, work out what you owe, and make sure it's filed and paid on time, so HMRC stays quiet and your figures hold up.

What we do for you
Corporation tax applies to the profits of limited companies – not sole traders or partnerships, who pay income tax instead. Every active UK company has to file a company tax return (CT600) with HMRC each year, reporting its earnings, costs and anything else that bears on the figures. We prepare that return from your records, calculate the tax due, deal with HMRC on your behalf, and start early enough that nothing is left to the deadline.

How it works
- 01 A first conversation, free of charge We talk through what sort of business entity you have and how corporation tax works for you. You leave knowing what we would do and what it would cost.
- 02 Getting set up You authorise us to deal with HMRC on your behalf. We agree what we need from you and when, and we work from your records and annual accounts so nothing has to be typed twice.
- 03 Every year We prepare your corporation tax return from the company accounts.
- 04 Filing and payment Once you have approved the return we file it digitally, tell you what is due and when, and remind you before the deadline rather than after it.
- 05 The rest of the year HMRC queries, checks and changes to the rules come to us first. If something affects you, we tell you what it means in plain English.
More about this service
What is corporation tax?
Corporation tax is a tax on the profits of limited companies. Sole traders and partnerships pay income tax on their profits instead – that is the difference. Clubs and associations that trade can also fall into the corporation-tax net.
Who has to file a company tax return?
Every active UK limited company files a company tax return (CT600) with HMRC each year. The return reports earnings, costs, loans and anything else that bears on the company’s financial year. The accounting period it covers is the period of the company’s accounts.
Deadlines
The return is due 12 months after the end of the accounting period it covers. The tax itself is payable earlier. File late and HMRC will estimate the bill and add penalties. We start well before the deadline so the figures are complete, not guessed.
How we help
We prepare the company accounts and the CT600 from your records, calculate the liability, manage the deadlines and deal with HMRC on your behalf. Directors’ dividends, PAYE and the company filings sit alongside this work – we keep them joined up.
